Bigger tanks mean a lot more heavy water and waste to haul out and dump. That extra work is charged as labor, on top of the regular maintenance rate.
Tanks under 75 gallons only pay the maintenance rate. Example: a 100 gallon freshwater tank is $100 maintenance plus $100 labor.

Residential tanks, office and lobby displays, restaurants and backyard ponds.
Most freshwater tanks do well every two weeks. Reef systems and heavily stocked tanks usually need weekly care. We recommend a schedule after the first visit.
Maintenance and labor are two different things. Maintenance is cleaning, filter changes and getting everything working right, which usually takes under an hour. Labor is hauling and dumping all the heavy water and waste, and on tanks 75 gallons and up that can add an extra hour or more. Labor is $1 per gallon for 75 to 125 gallons and $2 per gallon over 125 gallons.
Measure the length, width and height in inches, multiply them together and divide by 231. Or just type the numbers into the tank size finder in the pricing calculator or the quote form and it does the math for you.
